31st October 2003 Surfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: E Wind Stength: 18 knots Surf / Sea State: 3 foot clean surf Air Temperature: 6ºC Sea Temperature: 13ºC Weather: Rain Max Speed: Distance Covered: A nice little session all on my own. Nice to be able to get into my wetsuit inside the house and run across to the beach for a start, and once I got there it was bigger than I was expecting, a solid 3 foot, with some fairly meaty sets, and peeling nicely. It was pretty cold though, and I got pretty bad ice-cream headache, so I think its time to find the hood and boots. By the end of the session I couldn't feel my feet! The strong offshore winds made catching the waves really difficult, the only way to get on them was to go for some prety heroic late take offs, and even then I'd often get blown of the top of the wave as soon as I turned around after hitting the lip. The wind would just get under the board and prevent me from dropping back down the face. Still, a nice session and some prety nice waves. |
